Skincare Routine

I have had a few requests for my skincare routine as I used to have fairly bad acne and now my skin is completely clear!

Acne

My skin used to have really bad breakouts but this only started when I turned 18/19 years old. I always used to have great skin before this and I never had that awkward teenage skin until I left 6th Form.

I went to dance college in London at about the same age that my skin started to go down hill, I remember my first couple of weeks there I had a massive swollen spot on my chin that just lingered and wouldn't go down!

I never realised until now that STRESS does effect your body as well as your mentality, it really does. Throughout my years at college my skin got worse and in my third year it was at it's peak, I always thought it was my hormones or from sweating so much which I guess may have contributed a lot but I have now managed to figure it out!!

A couple of years on since I left college and I now have completely clear skin, with the exception of once a month where the hormones are raging and I get a couple of tiny pimples.

I decided to change my life; I met my boyfriend, got a full time job, moved out to my own place, met new people, made some amazing friends and managed to still model. I became independent and almost stress free within just under a year! I am eating healthier, drinking more water and I'm so much happier for it.

CLARISONIC

My Clarisonic Mia 2 has been one of the best investments I've made for my skin! I can honestly say that it really does improve the texture and thoroughly cleans my skin everytime I use it. The clarisonic basically vibrates/pulses whilst you brush it in circular motions around your face, it gets rid of all dirt and make-up even when you think you have already washed your face of all dirt it can really surprise you. Take a look at some reviews on YouTube if you're unsure but I highly recommend looking into making the purchase as it is a great investment.

It may have a hefty price tag but it is defintely worth the purchase and has lasted for almost 2 years now, all you have to do is change the brush head which I have only needed to do twice now. They have a wide range of brush heads on their website and a Clarisonic counter can be found in Jarrolds, Norwich (local to myself).

SKINCARE ROUTINE

Finding a skincare routine has been difficult as I never really knew if I had oily or dry skin, I naturally have quite soft skin and I've never suffered from any dryness, rashes, sensitivity or eczma so I knew that much. When I was going through my bad stage I used a lot of products with Tea Tree and Salicylic Acid ingredients such as Clean and Clear Cleansing Lotion which I used a lot after exfoliating, it would clean and dry out any spots that I had. I would also tone my skin as I was told that if I used toner after cleansing it would tighten pores and prevent any clogging!

If I have a shower I will wipe away any make up with La Roche Posay Make-up Remover Gel which has really worked well for me, it's so soothing and gets most of my make-up off in only a few wipes! Once I'm in the shower I will always use St. Ives Face Scrub which gently exfoliates the skin and gets rid of any flakey, dead skin. Make sure not to over scrub as this can make the skin sore and dry it out! I then use the La Roche Posay Purifying cleanser on my Clarisonic Mia 2 to get rid of all dirt and excess make-up (please see above for details).

When my face is dry i then apply my La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo which has been an absolute God send for my skin!!I like to exfoliate my lips with the LUSH Mint Julips, it gets rid of any dry flakey skin and is also edible, yum! I recommend using the scrub before applying any matte lipstick as it prevents the lipstick clinging and clumping in certain areas.
